November 1, 2016

The surrounding horizon lines around the farm are breathtaking.  We are located on a ridge, looking to the East is a confluence and convergence of hills, making a collage of color this Fall.   The incoming harvest, continuous harvest of greens, and the seasonal buttoning up projects, a look up from the daily work brings gratification and restoration.
The farm life will bring new tidings this coming winter season.  Our home market in Augusta will be moving inside to Maine General in Augusta in December, and we’ll be growing our clientele, in the coastal town of Belfast at their winter farmer’s market.
The basement is filling up with cabbage, winter radishes, carrots, beets, leeks, and brussels sprouts.  The lack of water this season did not serve out celeriac, and our winter squash and potatoes will be out by November’s end I suspect.
I remain deeply grateful and humbled by our CSA members.  The constancy of support and generosity of participation give me courage and strength to keep farming and fostering community through good food.  Thank you for a great 2016!
