Notes from the Field

What do I do with all of this food?

Eggplant, beets, carrots, tomatoes galore . . . .

No need to worry.  Let's talk about it.  How about veggie kabobs??  Learn to make a roasted tomatoe sauce or soup.

A stir-fry with a szechwan sauce?

The tomatoe, estivas and luci are red slicing tomatoes for sandwiches.  You have a choice between sungolds, husk cherry, and plum tomatoes this week.  Husk cherries taste like mini-pineapples, sungolds are of of the sweetest cherry tomatoes we grow, and the plums are versatile - for sauce or fresh eating.

The green beans, a variety called Jude, which we love, is giving with everlasting will.  Please blanche and freeze your beans if ou are feeling overwhelmed.
