Notes from the Field:

What a season it has been!

The tomatoes are still hanging in there as well as the sweet peppers.  Roading and blending veggies has been high on the list of priorities - roasted sweet peppers; roasted beets; roasted winter squash. . . the list goes on.  All of these items, especially the butternut or sunshine winter squash offer suggestion for soup.  The beets are red and white striped inside and candy sweet when baked.

The celeriac is a root that tastes like celery - perfect for roasting or using as in soups... the tops are in great shape too.

What's in the Bag

  • Salad mix
  • 2 purple onions
  • Winter Squash
  • 3 Carman sweet peppers
  • 3 Round Red tomatoes
  • 1 celeriac
  • 1# Chiogga beets
  • 1 bag of beans
  • 1 large or 2 small Delicata or Acorn squash

Gentle reminders: we have one more pick-up; we are at Market up inutil Thanksgiving.
