Field Notes

A day:

My calendar, interestingly, marks June as having 31 days.  What on earth??  What would you do if you had an extra day in June?

Sitting now, at the end of what is July 1, hearing pitter pats of rain outside, I recall an exponentkial list of tasks, activities, and farm day events that happened; it amazes me... and I imagine myself sitting around a table with some of you all, giving everyone an opportunity to simply list what each day hold; and ever yet, the sequence within an hours time.

What's in the Bag
  • Salad greens
  • Arugula
  • Garic scapes
  • Snow peas
  • Kale
  • Swiss chard
  • Spinach
  • Radishes
  • Beets

We picked 25# of salad greens today, weeded carrots, cabbage, onions, picked more greens; planted packs of peanut-butter-to-go packets in the field to surprise a co-worker; we shared stories of romance and hardship (while we worked); stories of odd intuition and family humors...

... I am consistently amazed by all of the thoughtful hands, bodies, minds, vibrant and fresh food forth to us.

Thank you to you for helping us sustain a vibrant community that values the land and soil health!!

Oh yum!! The bag! enjoy!

Garlic scapes are new...use like garlic cloves or in place of onion.  Can be used to make pesto with the arugula or your chosen weekly cooking green.

Half of you are receiving snow peas, the other half next week...
