Notes from the Field:

Something has gone fallow and now will grow a-rye......

As crisp mornings dawn our waking hours, we've begun putting areas of the Dig Deep Field to bed - sections that held early plants of crops grown, harvested, and distributed, now hold rye and vetch seed - cover crop that will stay hardy throught the winder, re-growing in the spring time.

Seeding cover crops are part of maintaining a healthy organic system.

What's in the Bag?

  • 1 bag salad mix
  • Your choice: Savoy Cabbage or Red Cabbage
  • Your choice: 2 winter squash: Acorn, Sweet Dumpling, Delicata
  • Your choice: 5 items from the "Potluck Basket"
  • 1 quart of potatoes
  • 1/2 pint shallots

Your bag includes delicious delight.  Some sweet winder squash choices, a mixed quart of red and all blue potatoes, and shallots - an onion like vbeggie, use in cooking!  All of these colors and food varieties bring pleasure and surprise to the pallet.

Yum!  Enjoy!
