Notes from the field:

I wish we grew fall raspberries.  Now that the pace of life has shifted, I had the great opportunity to take a day and a half off to visit long time friends in western Massachusetts.

It seemed like every roadside stand was advertising "local peaches"; I made a stop at my former stomping grounds, Hampshire College, to purview the Farm Center - they hae an on-campus CSA with pick-your-own fall tomatoes, beans, flowers and raspberries

What's in the box?

  • Salad mix
  • 2# onions
  • 2 garlic
  • roots for roastin':
    beets, carrots, potatoes, rutabega
  • Choose:
winter squash or a container with eggplant, tomato, and sweet pepper

I remember a variety named "Peach Melba" a rose-orange color, with great flavor.  The travel was enlivening for the senses, as we document what went well , what we hope to do better, and how we can go about doing that.  Checking out styles of CSAs is on the list as we moe along, building a work-share powered farm.

Per usual, enjoy the bag.

We have two weeks remaining.
